Intro

Cork matters is a company dedicated to making the highest standard of cork based products in Portugal. They are those that embrace risk to bring only the highest quality experiences to their customers.
Photography
Cork Matters is heavily centred around the texture and feel of the natural agglomerated cork that is then formed together to make for a rich textural experience. One of the key identities of their products is the earthy tones of use to make their distinct and vibrant colours. When photographing the products, we wanted to capture both the dramatic differences in colour yet their apparent harmony, as if it were a natural colour palette.

Typography
We came to the project with Lexend Zetta having been chosen as the logo font. Lexend Zetta is a modern, sans-serif typeface with a clean and minimalist design that helps keep the focus on the cork forms and shapes with a modern feel.

We then set about looking for a clean and readable san-serif for our body text and settled on “Noah” by Fontfabric. We found this font to display nicely across screen sizes and also offered wide language support in case of expanding the website into other languages.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen ook. It has survived not only five cen- turies, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially un- changed. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets con- taining Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software
Social Media
Having a wide variety of rich media provides understanding of how the products can fit into different contexts. Cork Matters and their parent company, Simple Forms Design, believe that the flexibility should be given to the user to decide how best for the product to be used. Nonetheless, providing a rich array of options helps customers see potential use cases they had not foreseen!

Animations
Motion and shadows bring materials to life, and cork is no exception. Giving potential customers a 360 degree view leaves with no questions about the quality of the products. Animations have been produced in blender to show the cork.
